Our favorite personal finance blogs: Wise Bread

Wise BreadWith a different approach then our first reviewed blog, Get Rich Slowly, Wise Bread is a community of bloggers writing on vastly different topics under the financial advice umbrella. With the tag line ” Living large on a small budget ” the site encourages readers to make sound financial decisions without sacrificing the fun in life.As I look at the newest posts today there is: a book review, shopping tips, freebie alerts, and investment advice just to name a few. At this site you never know what could pop up as a topic, which makes for a lot of interesting commentary.

With many personal finance advice sites a gloomy aura of sacrifice and guilt hang overhead in the lessons taught. Let’s face it, we all know too well that cutting out some frivolous pleasures is a part of budgeting, but do we have to be beaten over the head, No thanks! Wise Bread’s writers take a wise-ass view on many topics, (see How to get rich by being evil) and uphold the site’s mission to present financial information and advice in a light-hearted, off-beat manner, making the blog a joy to read.

Wise Bread won’t always feature a post that pertains directly to you, but, its wry sense of humor and originality make the subject of personal finance a little less daunting and painless, and gets you to think about decisions that can really affect you. Look to Wise Bread to help you

“Create a lifestyle that is as much fun as it is practical.”
